Financial Assistance
SBBA offers financial assistance to families participating in most of our 2nd through 8th grade programs throughout the program year. Families who have been approved for either free or reduced lunches through the Direct Certification for Assistance Program by the Shakopee School District are eligible for reduced program registration fees.

Financial assistance is available to players in 2nd - 8th grades for most programs run by SBBA.
When
Registration for financial assistance is open throughout the program year and is based on the qualification/benefits letter for the current school year only.
Financial Assistance Amounts
Financial assistance is provided for most program offerings and ranges from 25 - 100% assistance based upon free/reduced lunch status and available amounts budgeted for the program. *Amount of assistance may change from program to program

What documents do I need to provide to apply?
You must provide a copy of your current year free/reduced lunch benefit letter from the Shakopee School District during the application process. If you have not received your letter, you will need to work that through the school district before applying.
If I qualified for assistance in prior years, do I still have to register/apply this year?
Yes - application for financial assistance is required once per program year (fall through summer). Qualifying for certain assistance in prior years does not guarantee assistance in the current year.
Once approved for the current program year, do I need to reapply for each program registration?
No - you need only apply once per program year (generally in the fall). If you plan to register for other programs after your initial registration, please reach out to the SBBA Treasurer who will advise if any financial assistance is available for that program and provide you with the necessary information required for registration.
If I have multiple children in the program, do I need to register them separately?
Yes - even if your letter covers multiple children in your family, you must submit an application for each child that is participating in a SBBA program so we can track each applicant separately.
2025-26 Financial Assistance
Registration is now open for families to apply for financial assistance for the 2025 - 2026 program year.
Please only apply once you have received your Direct Certification Approval for Benefits (or equivalent) letter for the 2025 - 2026 school year from the Shakopee School District. Prior year letters or letters from outside of the Shakopee School District will not be accepted.
Each player must only apply once for the full 2025 - 2026 program year (Fall through Summer) but amounts of assistance may vary from program to program. Families with multiple players will need to register each player separately.
Register as early as possible as financial assistance is limited to amounts budgeted each year and is on a first come, first serve basis.
Families who do not qualify for benefits through the Shakopee School District can also register and provide a description of the hardship or need for assistance; however, assistance will first be prioritized by those families meeting the initial requirements of the program.
